13. [Back to Basics Mini-Series] Nourishment + Grounding with Waverly Davis
Why do we need to go back to the basics?
Because humans make life (and healing) so complicated.
We feel we have to always be DOING — meditating in the morning, keeping up with an embodied dance practice or running/walking routine, sitting at our altar at night, doing shadow work, gratitude practices, journaling, dreamwork, ritual, and on and on it goes.
Don’t get me wrong, I love all of these practices (and teach many of them to my clients), but in today’s fast-paced, overwhelming world we can get so caught up in all the DOING that we forget about BEING — we forget how to live with presence + pleasure.
I have seen time and time again (in my own life and in my client’s lives) that the longest-lasting transformation and healing comes from the BEING not DOING, from KEEPING IT SIMPLE and going BACK TO THE BASICS.
And so here we are – the Back to Basics mini-series where I’ll be dropping podcast + email microdoses that strip back the unnecessary and simplify the basics of living with presence + pleasure.
Welcome to the first MICRODOSE! We’re going to be talking about nourishment + grounding.
In this episode, I discuss:
Nourishment and what it means to me and simple and doable ways I nourish myself, going back to the basics, water, food, sleep, etc.
Pleasure and pain and the truth that disconnection, not pain, is the opposite of pleasure
Grounding as a practice to bring us back into connection with ourselves and the earth
I guide you in a grounding practice
